Windows 11’s list of supported processors is periodically updated by Microsoft. In the previous May update, the company included various new Intel chips, such as the latest Raptor Lake (13th Gen) processors. Nonetheless, in the latest list published on July 25, Microsoft reversed course by removing support for several previously eligible Intel CPUs under Windows 11 22H2.

It’s crucial to grasp that each iteration of Windows 11 (21H2 and 22H2) has its distinct roster of compatible processors. The recent modification record from Microsoft pertains specifically to the Windows 11 22H2 edition.

The list of Xeon CPUs not supported includes all Intel Coffee Lake (8th Gen) Core processors. This implies Microsoft has entirely withdrawn server-based CPU support, though desktop counterparts persist. Yet, most Xeon CPUs after Coffee Lake remain eligible for upgrades.

Conversely, the updated roster of supported processors features several fresh Ryzen models, including the unrevealed Ryzen 3 5380. This processor is speculated to be an AMD “Lucienne” lineup SKU, founded on Zen 2 CPU and Vega GPU microarchitectures.
